Schedule Change! Event cancellation.
The Hinchliffe event scheduled for Sept 16 has been cancelled.
Stadium renovation/construction scheduled in September has generated safety concerns.

The Tioga County Fair event of Aug 11 became a still show event due to heavy rains there for several days. The track could not be groomed to a safe condition. Good turn out of cars, we were disappointed we could not run on this historic track.

The Bloomsburg Nationals event was a great success. About a hour and a half of track time (on Aug 12) was presented to a very appreciative crowd of spectators from the Street Rod and  Muscle Car show that was hosting our efforts.

Details and photos of both events will be posted soon.

Bloomsburg Nationals

ACOT has been invited to this historic venue. The Bloomsburg Fairgrounds track (1/2 mile dirt) was the site of classic late season midget races during the annual Bloomsburg Fair. The one day event drew midget teams from the West Coast, Mid-West, South, and, of course, the East. The purses were big and the field of cars huge. While there is no longer open wheel events here, the Bloomsburg National car show has been held for many years with great success. The promoters of this show have seen some of ACOT's open wheel cars and have extended a no fee, no charge offer to all of our members that want to show our vintage racers. The promoters are providing indoor exibition space for all three days of the show.  There will be 'paced' track time on Sunday.
Note: Check the 'Bloomsburg Nationals' website. This year ACOT members with cars will be admitted free, have your membership card with you. Also, ACOT members will be able to participate in activities on Sunday, even if they can only make the show on Sunday. The promoters understand there is a previously scheduled show in NY that the club supports.

The narrative on the Nationals web site lists fees and participation instructions. The promoters assure ACOT of free entry, exibition space, and track time.

Registration with Bloomsburg Nationals prior to the  event is recommended. Click on green button to left.

Track History:
'Midgets at Cherry Park'
The 'all day' event at Evergreen Raceway on July 14 was a great success and enjoyed by everyone.  Track time continued through the afternoon cycling the four classes of cars for the 10 lap sessions. The 10 lap (unpaced but 'please be safe and use your head') green flag number was determined at the drivers meeting after one driver spoke up: 'Not 15 laps, 10 laps please, we are all old here.' The comment brought much laughter from the group, it was that kind of day, keep it simple, no pressure.  However, the TQ drivers wanted a 'feature race'. So the more competitve members of that club had a formal session organized with a green flag start and a checkered flag finish.  Those on the track (about 10 cars) got their wish with some flat out racing that was fun to watch.  It was a beautiful, warm afternoon where everyone got their fill of laps. By the end of the day the announcement was repeated several times 'Track is open for anyone ............ anyone'.

We had a very good field of cars.  The  quality of cars was excellent. The car count exceeded our expectations.  ACOT will schedule a similar event in the future, possibly this year, certainly next year.
